Following community input through the Your Budget Ideas initiative last year, we've prepared a draft budget for the next year and a draft Strategic Resource Plan for the next four years.

We're now seeking your input. You can provide input through a formal process known as a Section 223 submission.

  • Step 1: Read the draft documents and associated information (you may also like to attend a Councillor pop-up session to ask questions or discuss the documents)
  • Step 2: Decide whether you'd like to provide feedback informally or as a Section 223 submission
  • Step 3: Complete our online or hard copy feedback or submission form

Submissions need to be received by 5pm on Wednesday 22 May.

Formal submissions will be considered at a Special Community Questions and Hearings Committee Meeting on Monday 3 June. The Budget and Strategic Resource Plan will then be considered for adoption at the June Ordinary Council Meeting on Monday 17 June.

  • Submissions (Budget and Strategic Resource Plan 2019)

    Submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”).

    As part of the section 223 Local Government Act requirements, all written submissions will become public documents available for inspection by the public.

    Submissions will be considered at a Special Community Questions and Hearings Committee meeting to be held on Monday 3 June 2019 at 7pm in the Council Chamber, 113 High Street, Broadford.

    Anyone who has made a written submission is entitled to appear in person (or by a person acting on their behalf) at the committee meeting.

    Council will then consider adoption of the proposed Budget and Strategic Resource Plan and any changes at the Council Meeting on Monday 17 June.

    Hard copy submission
    • Download and print a hard copy survey form from this website.
    • Pick up a submission form from a Customer and Library Service Centre in Broadford, Kilmore, Seymour or Wallan.
    • Send us a written submission by email to mitchell@mitchellshire.vic.gov.au or mail to Mitchell Shire Council, Reply Paid 70358, 113 High Street, Broadford, Vic, 3658 (no stamp required)
    • Drop a written submission to our Customer and Library Service Centres
    Hard copy and online submissions need to be received by 5pm, Wednesday 22 May 2019.
