Mitchell 2050 Community Vision: Refreshing the Vision

Consultation has concluded on the Community Vision Refresh, we will be engaging more with the community soon around our priorities for the Health and Wellbeing Plan, Council Plan, Asset Plan and Financial Plan.

Tree with colourful roots running from the ground to the leaves representing the aspirations for life in Mitchell Shire

In 2021, we embarked on a journey with our community to envision our future together. Nearly 2,500 people from diverse backgrounds, various life stages, nationalities, faiths, and genders came together to share their dreams and aspirations for Mitchell Shire’s next 30 years.

We asked you to dream big, and you did. Your visions were bold and transformative, resulting in six major themes shaped by over 11,000 unique pieces of information. These themes now carry aspirations reflecting what you hope to see us focus on as we create a healthy, vibrant and connected community that values nature, diversity and innovation.

As mandated by the Local Government Act 2020, we revisit this Community Vision every four years, alongside our long-term planning documents. This ensures that our shared vision remains aligned with your evolving aspirations and priorities .

We are conducting a refresh of the Vision to ensure it still aligns with the aspirations and priorities identified by you, before we draft our next new four-year Council Plan, Health and Wellbeing Plan and reassess our Asset Plan and Financial Plan 2023/24 - 2032/33.
