Broadford Parks and Playspaces Activation 2021

This survey has now closed. For information on this project, please contact council on 5734 6200.

With COVID restrictions still saying if you can work from home you should work home, we’ve decided to cancel the planned drop-in session on Wednesday 23 June. If you'd like to discuss the project, please phone our Recreation and Open Space Team on 5734 6200.

The activation of the Broadford parks and play spaces project will see the development of two playgrounds and outdoor fitness equipment in Broadford. The project will include an upgrade of the Memorial Park playground that is due to start in June/July 2021, a nature play space in Wattle Street and outdoor fitness equipment at Donaldson Drive Reserve. All three sites will be completed in 2021.

Initially the nature play space was planned to be located on the land behind the Broadford Living and Learning Centre and the outdoor fitness equipment was planned to be located along with Broadford Common walking track. Due to land-use approvals and the feedback received from a consultation in June 2020, the decision was made to move the projects to Council-owned sites.

While the upgrade to the Memorial Park playground will commence in the coming months, Council is looking for community input on the proposed nature play space and the outdoor fitness equipment.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Following conversations with various community groups in Broadford, the proposed concept design has been developed for the nature play space at Wattle Street and is ready for feedback from the wider community.

An image and a description of the fitness elements for Donaldson Drive Reserve are also available for feedback.

Your input will help finalise plans.
