Help Shape Wallan East (Newbridge) Recreation Reserve

We’re planning for the future of the Wallan East (Newbridge) Recreation Reserve and want to hear from the community.

The reserve will include soccer and cricket facilities, along with other spaces where people can play, exercise, relax and connect. Your feedback will help us understand what additional recreation opportunities, landscape improvements and park features should be considered in the Master Plan.

About the project

The Wallan Structure Plan 2015 identified 6.5 hectares of land in the Newbridge estate for a local active open space reserve.

The reserve is planned to include:

  • three soccer pitches
  • a cricket oval
  • a shared community pavilion with changerooms and social spaces
  • other community facilities, such as a playspace and walking tracks.

The Master Plan will provide a long-term plan for the reserve that responds to the sporting, recreation and community needs of Wallan East. Once the Master Plan is completed and endorsed by Council, its delivery will be supported through developer contributions and external funding

How to provide feedback

What would make the indoor and outdoor spaces at this reserve more welcoming, safe and useful for local people?

You can:

What feedback can influence

Your feedback will help us understand what additional recreation opportunities, park features, landscaping and community spaces are important to local residents. It will also help inform how the reserve and pavilion can support recreation, social connection and community use into the future.

What cannot change

The location of the reserve, the inclusion of soccer and cricket facilities, and the available budget for developing the reserve and buildings have already been determined and cannot be changed through this consultation.

What happens next

Your thoughts and information will help to design this reserve. Once a draft plan has been created, we will be seeking some more feedback, and then a final plan will be presented to Council early in 2027.
