Urban Forest Strategy

Consultation has concluded

A yellow banksia

We've developed a draft Urban Forest Strategy from community feedback and industry best practices to help improve canopy cover and greening within our urban areas and townships.

The draft was informed by questions we asked our community about things like what types of trees you like and where you want to see them planted, while also talking about how to protect important trees on public and private property.

We also asked your thoughts on how an urban forest strategy could help our community adapt to the effects of climate change.

We are now asking for your submissions on the draft strategy too make sure we have captured everything and for you to let us know if anything is missing.

Get involved

We’ve prepared a short survey to gather feedback on the draft Urban Forest Strategy which includes questions on:

  • Our canopy cover targets
  • How many trees people want to see planted
  • How we can protect important trees on public and private property

You can take a short survey online, attend a pop up or drop in session or call us to find out more and share your thoughts.
