Consultation has concluded
The planning permit application is for the use of the land for a place of assembly (Respite and Recovery Centre) and associated accommodation.
The proposed facility is a voluntary residential based treatment program for both men and women with drug and alcohol problems who have already participated in the rehabilitation process.
The facility is a 24-hour staffed home, with programs to run between three to four months depending on the personal circumstances of the client.
The application is seeking to accommodate a maximum of 40 clients, with the program to start with 20 clients and work up to 40 over two years.
Support staff are proposed to be on site both day and night, with the centre manager residing onsite from Monday to Friday. Sundays have been identified as community outing days for all clients and staff.
All associated activities and accommodation is to occur within the existing buildings on the site, with no construction proposed as part of the application.
