NEW LOCATION FOR SEYMOUR RESOURCE RECOVERY CENTRE

We're making some changes at Seymour Resource Recovery Centre so we can bring you a new and better service in 2020.

In the meantime, there'll be some changes to the service.

A new temporary site - new location and changed hours

  • The current Hume and Hovell site will close permanently from 16 July onwards
  • A temporary site at Mitchell Landfill in Hilldene will open from 23 July (see map below for location)
  • The temporary Hilldene site will have limited days and hours. However, we've added an extra three days to Broadford

A new permanent centre - input wanted

We're also making plans for a new permanent site at Hilldene.

We're after your ideas about the services you'd like to see at the new centre.

We'll be holding some drop in sessions at Chittick Park Community Place on:

  • Thursday 19 July, 4.30pm to 7.30pm
  • Saturday 21 July, 10am to 1.30pm

    The current Seymour Resource Recovery Centre at the Hume and Hovell Road site will be closing permanently from 16 July.

    A temporary site will be located at the Mitchell Landfill in Hilldene with plans for a new permanent site at the Mitchell Landfill are prepared.

  • Temporary Hilldene site operating from 23 July

    A new temporary site will operate next to the Mitchell Landfill at Hilldene.

    To access the new site, turn right just before the CFA shed at Hilldene on the Seymour-Tooborac Road.

    The Hilldene site will open on:

    • Mondays from 10am to 3pm
    • Saturdays from 9am to 12pm

  • Extended hours at Broadford from 16 July

    We're adding an extra three days to Broadford Resource Recovery Centre from 16 July.

    The Broadford Recovery Centre is located on Mia Mia Road and will open Tuesdays to Sundays from 12pm to 4pm.

  • What ideas do you have for the new permanent site?

    We're seeking your ideas for the new permanent site which we hope to have operating by 2020.

    We've received $500,000 from the Victorian Government to help build the new centre.

    We want to know what sort of services you'd like to see in the centre.
