Renaming proposal - Mitchell Street, Kilmore

We're proposing to rename two parts of Mitchell Street in Kilmore. The section west of Sydney Street between Malthouse Street and John Street, and the small section east of Sydney Street that runs alongside the shops. There are no changes being proposed to the section of Mitchell Street east of Andrew Street.

Why is the change being proposed?

Mitchell Street in Kilmore is currently split into three sections which do not physically connect.

Renaming these sections of Mitchell Street will make it easier for emergency services and the general public to locate addresses correctly. It also meets the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria.

Eight properties currently addressed to the affected sections of Mitchell Street will need to be re-addressed as part of the proposal. Please note that whilst no properties are numbered directly to the small section running alongside the shops, it still requires renaming.

As part of our legislative requirements for road naming, we are seeking feedback on the proposed names received from affected property owners.
