Are you passionate about volunteering and the community? Why not join the Mitchell Shire Volunteer Advisory Committee?

The aim of the Mitchell Shire Volunteer Advisory Committee is to provide advice and feedback to ensure volunteering is encouraged, supported and recognised within Mitchell Shire. The purpose of the committee will be to:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of volunteering within the Shire for all volunteer involving organisations, community groups and sporting clubs
  • Provide feedback and advise on issues which impact upon volunteering within the municipality
  • Promote and embed good practices and principles regarding volunteer development and management across the Shire
  • Support members through information sharing and mentoring to build on our collective skills, knowledge, experience, resources and expertise

  • Information Session - 13 February 2018

    We are currently calling on new members to join this committee to grow involvement from volunteer involving organisations across the Shire.

    An information session will take place:

    10 - 11.30 am, Tuesday 13 February 2018 atCouncil Chambers, 113 High Street Broadford.

    We are inviting representitves from volunteer involving organisations, community groups and sporting clubs to come along and find out more about joining this committee.

    There will be a short presentation on ‘National Standards of Volunteering’ as well as the opportunity to share ideas, successes and challenges on volunteering across Mitchell.

    Tea, coffee & light refreshments will be provided.
