Draft Greenhill Recreation Precinct Master Plan

This round of consultation has concluded, we will report back when there are further opportunities to provide feedback.

Mitchell Shire Council is moving forward with the next phase of planning for the Greenhill Recreation Precinct in Wallan. In response to the growing need for both active and passive recreational facilities in and around Wallan, we are developing a draft master plan for this vibrant new community space. Located on the Northern Highway, the precinct will bring together the existing Greenhill Reserve (330 Northern Highway) and an adjacent site to the south (300 Northern Highway), creating a space designed for everyone to enjoy.

What's Planned?

The draft plans for the Greenhill Recreation Precinct propose a range of facilities that cater to diverse interests and age groups, including:

  • An integrated aquatic and indoor recreation facility,
  • Indoor and outdoor active multi-use courts for sports and activities,
  • Areas dedicated to passive open space activities and cultural experiences.

These facilities are designed to blend seamlessly with the unique natural environment of Wallan, particularly the iconic Green Hill volcanic cone, ensuring the precinct enhances the local landscape.

Community feedback on the plans is crucial as we shape the future of the Greenhill Recreation Precinct. We have developed two plans with proposed options Option A and Option B and we want to know what you think.
