Aquatic Facilities Strategy 2025 - 2034
Consultation for this project has concluded, thank you for your feedback, we will report back once all feedback has been reviewed and a report prepared.
The 2014-2024 Mitchell Shire Aquatic Facilities Strategy has ended, and it's time for a review. We are now working on the strategy for the next 10 years.
The new Aquatic Facilities Strategy for 2025-2034 will:
- Define Council's role in the aquatics market, aligning with the Mitchell 2050 Community Vision and the Council Plan 2021-2025.
- Ensure Council understands the need for aquatic facilities to support the Shire's growing population in a sustainable and cost-effective way.
The goal is to create a well-researched plan for the number, location, and use of aquatic facilities to meet the community's future needs.
Aquatic Facilities include places for water-based activities, both indoors and outdoors. Where Aquatic Facilities are co-located with associated infrastructure such as gyms, community meeting spaces, program rooms and stadium spaces etc., these are to be included in the strategy. Stand-alone stadiums and non-aquatic facilities are not included in the scope of this project
