Thanks to everyone who helped with the Aquatic Strategy Development Survey in 2024. Your feedback, along with audits, service reviews and industry consultation, helped us prepare the Draft Aquatic Facilities Strategy.

The draft looks at current and future community needs, how our pools are used, the condition of our facilities, and what types of facilities and supporting spaces will be needed as Mitchell grows. It aligns with the Mitchell 2050 Community Vision, Council Plan and the Health and Wellbeing Plan.

Future direction: As Mitchell Shire grows, the community will have access to diverse, affordable and operationally sustainable aquatic programs and multi‑use facilities that improve quality of life, promote increased participation, and deliver social and health benefits to our diverse population.

Guiding principles:
Provide quality facilities, improve community health and wellbeing, create sustainable outcomes and maximise equity and access.
