Community Emergency Management Plan - Broadford, Sugarloaf Creek and Glenaroua
Broadford, Sugarloaf Creek and Glenaroua Community Emergency Management Plan
Emergencies can happen anywhere, and from time-to-time Broadford, Sugarloaf Creek and Glenaroua may experience events such as bushfires, floods, storms, or other emergencies. Some of these are beyond our control, but by working together we can be better prepared and recover more quickly.
The aim of emergency management in Victoria is to build safer, more resilient communities. This can only happen when local people are involved, informed, and understand their role before, during, and after an emergency.
When community members, emergency services, businesses, and government work together, we can plan and respond more effectively - helping to reduce the impacts of emergencies on our town.
A Community Emergency Management Plan is developed by and for the local community, in partnership with emergency agencies such as the CFA, SES, Victoria Police, and Council. It helps local people take part in decision-making and strengthens connections between community and emergency services.
Mitchell Shire Council and the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee are now inviting Broadford, Sugarloaf Creek and Glenaroua residents to complete our survey based on your planning and preparation experiences, to help shape a Community Emergency Management Plan.
This short survey will help us:
- Understand community concerns about emergencies
- Learn how prepared our community currently feels
Your feedback will directly contribute to making Broadford, Sugarloaf Creek and Glenaroua a safer and more resilient place to live.
