Wallan Community Emergency Management Plan.
Complete the survey to help shape a Community Emergency Management Plan for Wallan.
All Victorian communities may experience emergencies, including extreme weather, bushfires and flooding. In more isolated areas, these risks can be greater due to location and access.
Victoria’s emergency management vision is to build safer, more resilient communities, and that relies on local people being involved and knowing what to do.
What’s this project about?
We’re developing a Community Emergency Management Plan for Wallan. Your local knowledge will help identify key risks, priority locations, available supports, and the best ways to share information before, during and after an emergency.
Similar community emergency management plans are also planned for surrounding towns in the future. By working together, agencies and community members can reduce the impacts of emergencies.
How to get involved
Please complete the survey if you live in Wallan. We’re asking for your experiences of past events, what information and support you need, local risks and vulnerable areas, and whether you’d like to be involved in developing the plan.
About the plan
Community emergency management plans are created with the community and the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee, with input from local agencies (such as CFA, SES and Victoria Police).
It helps build local networks and improves how Wallan prepares for, responds to and recovers from emergencies.
