Budget and capital works 2023/24

This stage of consultation has concluded. We are now preparing a draft budget.

As we prepare our 2023/24 budget, we’re inviting submissions on our four-year capital works program.

We’re investing a record $198.5 million including delivery of more than $109 million in new capital works projects over the next four years.

The draft 2023-24 capital works budget has $14.74 million in new funding through grants and external contributions to help us deliver a $31.425 million works program including 18 new projects.

We’ll upgrade existing and build new roads, footpaths, walking and cycling paths, and bridges and we’ll develop community facilities, stadiums and pavilions, sporting reserves, parks and playgrounds.

Some of the projects planned for 2023-24 include:

  • Beveridge Recreation Reserve
  • Beveridge, Greater Beveridge Community Centre expansion
  • Broadford Family and Children's Centre expansion
  • Broadford Secondary College oval upgrade
  • Kilmore Ryans Creek Reserve expansion
  • Kilmore Senior Citizens upgrade
  • Pyalong Kindergarten upgrade
  • Pyalong Recreation Reserve shared-use court and lighting project
  • Sealed Road Renewal - Annual Program
  • Seymour Heywood Hill Reserve park and playspace upgrade
  • Seymour Kings Park Playspace upgrade
  • Seymour Old Landfill passive gas flare
  • Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre improvements to concourse, group fitness room, pool cover and other sustainability upgrades
  • Tallarook Outdoor Pool slide replacement
  • Wandong Community Centre upgrade
  • Wallan Central Cycle and Nature Trail
  • Wallan Darraweit Road upgrade
  • Wallan Greenhill Reserve lower oval upgrade

By funding important projects our growing communities need now, we're making a real difference in the lives of our residents and connecting them to the programs and services they want, and need, close to home.

We’ve developed these plans in partnership with the feedback you provided in the Mitchell 2050 Vision, Council Plan, and other strategies, projects and suggestions over the last few years.
