The Master Plan explores the connection between two ecologically and culturally significant landscape landmarks in Beveridge, located in the southern area of our Shire: Bald Hill and Merri Creek.

Bald Hill to Merri Creek area has been identified as encumbered open space in the Lockerbie Precinct Structure Plan (2012). It also forms part of the proposed marram baba Merri Creek Regional Parklands, a future open space that proposes to include more than 2,700 hectares along Merri Creek, stretching from Beveridge to Campbellfield.

Bald Hill to Merri Creek final Master Plan will have the ability to influence the potential use, operation and development of this open space, as well as providing recommendations for ongoing management.

The preparation of the Master Plan involves working together with a range of communities and stakeholders, including the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, State government agencies, developers, environmental groups and the community.
