Anzac Avenue masterplan, Seymour

Anzac Avenue road looking downhill from residential area to traders area with trees in the centre median

Mitchell Shire Council is developing a masterplan to improve the Anzac Avenue streetscape from the railway underpass to Delatite Road.

The streetscape masterplan will include designs and options for a new Avenue of Honour, footpath and cycling improvements and other possible changes to the road network to improve safety.

As well as creating a more striking gateway entry to Seymour, we hope to encourage more people to visit the Anzac Avenue retail precinct and make it easier for people to get to where they need to go – however they choose to travel.

The masterplan will also help Anzac Avenue to carry extra traffic from new houses in the area and continue to function as a main road and heavy vehicle route until a bypass is created at some stage in the future.

What's planned

  • Provide an Avenue of Honour tree memorial
  • Improve access to the War Memorial
  • Enhance pedestrian and cycling safety
  • Increase biodiversity
  • Increase informal crossings and connections
  • Improve public realm

Get involved

To help develop the draft plans and designs, we’ve got some questions about how you currently use Anzac Avenue and what sort of changes you think are needed.

  • Information sheet
  • Drop in sessions
  • Online or hard copy survey

Your feedback will help shape the draft plans and designs which will then be released for further input.

Once the masterplan is finalised, Council will then seek funding to deliver the projects identified.

Round 1 consultation closes 9am, Friday 30 September.

Funding

The masterplan project is funded through Council's Capital Works program.

  • Survey

We’ve prepared a survey to gather input from traders, residents and the wider community. We’ve got some questions about how you use Anzac Avenue and what sort of changes you think are needed.

Community input is important to help develop a holistic strategy for the masterplan. Community, trader and resident feedback will help inform the draft designs for the masterplan and prioritise the works.

You can provide feedback through this survey, at a drop in session or by contacting the project team.
