**Note: postponed due to flooding, updates to be provided**
Mitchell Shire Council is developing a masterplan to improve the Anzac Avenue streetscape from the railway underpass to Delatite Road.
The streetscape masterplan will include designs and options for a new Avenue of Honour, footpath and cycling improvements and other possible changes to the road network to improve safety.
As well as creating a more striking gateway entry to Seymour, we hope to encourage more people to visit the Anzac Avenue retail precinct and make it easier for people to get to where they need to go – however they choose to travel.
The masterplan will also help Anzac Avenue to carry extra traffic from new houses in the area and continue to function as a main road and heavy vehicle route until a bypass is created at some stage in the future.
What's planned
- Provide an Avenue of Honour tree memorial
- Improve access to the War Memorial
- Enhance pedestrian and cycling safety
- Increase biodiversity
- Increase informal crossings and connections
- Improve public realm
Get involved
To help develop the draft plans and designs, we’ve got some questions about how you currently use Anzac Avenue and what sort of changes you think are needed.
