Wallan Healthy Minds
Consultation has concluded
Healthy Minds is the first Wallan youth mental health strategy.
Young people are the future of our communities. When young people are healthy and happy, they can stay resilient in tough times and be a more active part of the community.
However currently young people in the area are experiencing higher than average levels of mental illness and have limited access to services. Good health and wellbeing is a result of our whole community working together, and with Wallan’s fast population growth, it’s time to build a strategy that understands the challenges that young people, and their friends and families, face, and provides access to support when they need it.
Healthy Minds will be a 4-year strategy (2019-2023) that plans for the services and programs needed for young people to manage their mental health and wellbeing, taking a preventative and holistic approach across the community ecosystem.
We will be talking to the community throughout 2019 to help develop the strategy.
