We've been working with the communities of Tooborac, Pyalong and surrounding areas to develop place-based community plans.

The plans have been led by the community and we're excited to release the draft plans for input.

Community members are encouraged to view the plans and provide input.

About the place-based planning

In February 2019, Mitchell Shire Council resolved to embark on a place-based community planning journey.

Community planning takes a ‘place-based’ approach drawn from the participatory planning principle, “if you want to know how the shoe fits, ask the person who is wearing it, not the one who made it”.

A year later, the pilot community plans for Tooborac and Pyalong have taken shape following extensive community engagement.

Intended to be community-owned and led, Council's role has been to facilitate the development of the plans and support their implementation.

Submissions close Monday 30 March 2020.
