Consultation has concluded. For more information on this project, please contact Council on 5734 6200.

Grevillia Alpina, Seymour Bushland Park

We are drafting a management Plan for the Seymour Bushland Park and would like to hear what you value about the park, how you use the park and any ideas you have for its future management.

Located on the Goulburn Valley Highway, Seymour, the Seymour Bushland Park is one of Mitchell Shire's significant bushland reserves. The Reserve holds environmental, social, and cultural values for the Shire as a conservation reserve and passive recreational area.

The Seymour Bushland Park Committee of Management volunteers manage the reserve in partnership with Mitchell Shire Council.

The Reserve is a 65-hectare parcel of natural bushland located east of the Seymour centre and is home to several rare and threatened species.

The Reserve was originally part of a 360 ha Kitchener Military Camp, used for military training from 1910 to the 1960s. Seymour Bushland Park was established as a reserve in 1978 to allow the natural environment to re-generate.

To further assist with long-term protection and in recognition of the reserve's natural values, Mitchell Shire Council registered a Trust for Nature conservation covenant on the site in 2006.
