Road renaming proposal - part of Foote Street, Kilmore

We're proposing to rename part of Foote Street, Kilmore to Kilmore Lancefield Road, Kilmore.

Currently, Foote Street is split into two different sections and is separated by Skehan Place and the Kilmore Creek. There is no direct access from one section of Foote Street to the other.

The section proposed to be renamed begins at Sutherland Street and ends at the intersection of Sydney Street/Powlett Street.

This change will allow homes and dwellings to be addressed correctly to assist both postal services and emergency vehicles.

A small number of properties that are accessed directly from the affected section of Foote Street will be readdressed as a result of this change. There are no changes proposed for the section of Foote Street that is East of the Kilmore Creek.

    Mitchell Shire Council is proposing to rename the section of Foote Street, Kilmore that is located between Sutherland Street and the Powlett/Sydney Street to Kilmore Lancefield Road.

    Before considering this proposal further, Council is seeking input from the community. 

    The proposed name change will ensure that the naming of this section of road will comply with the Australian/New Zealand Standard for Rural and Urban Addressing (AS/NZS 4819:2011) and the naming rules for places in Victoria.
