About the plan

The updated Road Management Plan covers information on:

  • maintenance responsibilities for Council and landowners when there is private access and crossovers

  • which assets are maintained by Council

  • which assets are not maintained by Council and who the manager of that road or footpath is

  • defect intervention and steps taken

  • repair response times

  • affordability, available resources, and management of risks

  • road classification and intended function

  • duties of road users

  • inspection frequencies.

The plan describes the way Council will meet our road management obligations including maintenance targets and asset management programs that reflect available resources.

The plan also outlines the economic, social, safety, and environmental expectations of the community, particularly those people and groups who rely on the street network for access to homes, education, commercial and industrial areas.

The plan is regularly reviewed in line with the Road Management Act 2004 and includes benchmarking with other surrounding Councils to compare intervention levels and service standards. The data is attached under documents.
