Draft Revenue and Rating Plan 2025/2026 - 2028/2029

The Local Government Act 2020 requires councils to develop a Revenue and Rating Plan every four years to guide how revenue is raised to fund community services and infrastructure. Mitchell Shire Council’s draft plan outlines a framework to ensure a fair and sustainable approach to funding our Council Plan objectives and creating a sustainable future together with our community.

This plan details how revenue is calculated, how rates are distributed equitably among property owners, and the principles behind other income sources such as fees and charges. It also integrates with our budgeting and long-term financial plans.

This plan is an important part of Council’s integrated planning framework, all of which is created to help Council achieve its vision of “Together with the Community, creating a sustainable future”
