Powlett Street Broadford Master Plan

Help shape the future of Powlett Street

The Master Plan will help shape the future of Powlett Street as a safer, greener, more welcoming and vibrant town centre. We want to hear from the community about what you value, what could be improved, and what would make Powlett Street a better place to shop, visit and stay.
Your feedback will help Council understand local priorities before design options are developed.
About the project
Powlett Street is the heart of Broadford's town centre. It connects local shops, services, the primary school and local reserves.
The study area extends along Powlett Street from Mollison Street in the north to Ferguson Street in the south, with the primary focus on the section between High Street and the northern boundary of Harley Hammond Reserve.
The Broadford Structure Plan identifies Powlett Street as a community priority, and this Master Plan will guide future improvements to the street.
The project will also explore opportunities for public art and community-led activation that reflect Broadford's stories, local character and community aspirations.
Working with the community, Council will deliver a small-scale temporary community-led place activation project during the Master Plan process to test ideas, bring people together, and showcase the potential for future improvements.
Community Liaison Group
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from community members who would like to join a Community Liaison Group for the Powlett Street Master Plan project. The group will provide local knowledge, share community perspectives and help inform key stages of the project as it progresses. This is an opportunity to work closely with Council and project consultants to help shape the future vision for Powlett Street.
