Park naming Wallara Waters - Murrack Park
Consultation has concluded. For more information on this project, please contact Council on 5734 6200.
We're proposing to name a park in Wallara Waters, Wallan, to Murrack Park.
Murrack (pronunciation rhymes with ‘barrack’) means grasshopper in Woiwurrung language, the language of the Woiwurrung Tribe who were part of the Kulin Nation. This language was used in the Wallan area. Murrack reflects local fauna found in the area.
The park is situated in the centre of Bale Way, Mount Eliza Avenue, Waranga Street and Yan Yean Avenue.
Council is seeking your views on the proposed name.
Submissions need to meet the Victorian Government's Naming Rules for Places in Victoria. This is a statutory requirement for naming roads, features, and localities.
Submissions close 9am, Wednesday 22 February 2021
