Help Shape the Draft BMX, Mountain Bike and Skate Strategy for Mitchell Shire

Mitchell Shire Council has been working with Tredwell Consulting to develop the draft BMX, Mountain Bike and Skate Strategy. We are now inviting the community to review the draft Strategy and share feedback to help guide future planning and delivery of these facilities across the Shire.

We want your feedback on the draft Vision and Principles

These are the big-picture parts of the Strategy. They explain what Council is aiming for, and the key values that should guide future decisions. You can also tell us what actions should happen first (and what can wait until later).

Tell us: Does the Vision sound right? Are the Principles fair and clear? Is anything missing?

Why this strategy matters?

The draft Strategy helps plan for places and spaces like BMX tracks, mountain bike trails and skate parks.
• Mitchell Shire is one of Victoria’s fastest growing areas, so planning for future recreation spaces is important.
• The Strategy looks at existing facilities, future needs, priorities and opportunities across the whole Shire.
• The draft Strategy includes a costed implementation plan to help support future funding opportunities.
• Community feedback from the first stage of consultation has helped shape this draft document.

How to get involved

What happens next?

After the consultation period closes, we’ll review and consider all feedback received to help refine and finalise the Strategy. We’ll report back to the community via the Engaging Mitchell platform and email those who provided feedback.

The Strategy includes a costed implementation plan and will support future funding applications for delivering the recommended projects over time.
