Help shape fresh food options in Mitchell Shire

Mitchell Shire Council is seeking community feedback to help us better understand access to food in our growing communities.

As part of the Nourishing Neighbourhoods Partnership, funded through the VicHealth Local Partnerships Food First Grant, Council is undertaking a study to help shape food access and options in developing areas.

In this survey, we want to explore people’s current experience accessing food as well as understand what types of food outlets and fresh food options communities would like to see as new neighbourhoods develop. This may include fresh and affordable local produce, food hubs, co-operatives, market gardens and other fresh food models.

While the study will not set mandatory requirements, the findings will help inform future conversations about planning for healthy, affordable food options and more equitable, liveable neighbourhoods.
