Harley Hammond Reserve Master Plan

Consultation has concluded. For more information on this project, please contact Council on 5734 6200.

Harley Hammond Reserve is the recreational heart of Broadford, accommodating more than 616 junior and senior members across a variety of sports including netball, Australian rules football, cricket and tennis.

Harley Hammond Reserve is home to Broadford Cricket Club, Broadford Football Netball Club, Broadford Tennis Club, Broadford Junior Football Netball Club and Broadford Junior Netball Club. The reserve is also used by Broadford Primary School and the Broadford Auskick Program.

Many of the reserve's facilities are old and in need of renewal and others need work to bring them up to contemporary standards. Some of this work has been completed over recent years including a rebuild of the oval with new irrigation and drainage and renewal and upgrade of oval lighting to competition standard. Two current major projects are nearing completion – and lighting and reconstruction of two shared use netball/tennis courts and the provision of a new shared-use pavilion for netball, tennis and broader community use.

We want to continue developing this sporting precinct to serve our growing community for years to come.

We've put together a draft Harley Hammond Reserve master plan and would like your input.

Future works priorities

  • Renewal and lighting of the four clay tennis courts
  • Main oval pavilion – female friendly/inclusive facilities
  • Play space
  • Perimeter fencing renewal
  • Landscaping and replacement/new tree plantings (over time)
  • Car parking and entrance upgrade

The vision for the project is;

  • increase female inclusiveness
  • provide compliant sports courts for netball and tennis
  • relocation of construction of cricket nets
  • improve access to facilities
  • install competition standard lighting
  • address drainage/seasonal flooding
