Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) in Public Places Policy

Consultation has concluded

Mitchell Shire Council is committed to creating a safer and more involved community by working with stakeholders, community agencies and residents, so that we can improve public safety and enhance the community's perceptions of safety in public spaces.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) can assist with public safety by:

  • improve actual and perceived levels of safety;
  • reduce levels of graffiti and other forms of vandalism;
  • reduce anti-social behaviour; and
  • reduce incidents of serious criminal offences.

We recognise the benefits in consulting with the community prior to establishing CCTV in Public Places Policy, and implementing CCTV systems; this is where you come in. We want your views and opinions on the proposed safety measures we are taking.

Feedback has now closed.
