Project Closed: Draft Management Plans for Flora and Conservation Reserves

Overview

Mitchell Shire Council invited community feedback on the draft management plans for selected flora and conservation reserves. The engagement period has now closed.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to review the draft plans and make a submission for one or more of the following reserves:

What We Proposed

  • Highcamp Flora Reserve, Highcamp
  • Catherine Court Reserve, Broadford
  • Fleming Drive Flora Reserve, Broadford
  • Whiteman’s Reserve, Broadford
  • Green’s Pinch Reserve, Kilmore

Community Engagement

During the engagement period, community members were invited to review the draft management plans and share feedback through submissions.

Engagement Closed

Submissions have now closed.

  • Mar/Apr initial community engagement: 30 responses
  • Nov/Dec submissions received: 19
  • 47% of respondents are neighbours of the reserves
  • 79% found out about the plans via direct contact from a Council officer
  • 46% use the reserve daily

Outcome / Next Steps

Council officers are now reviewing the submissions and plan to take the final management plans to the April 2026 Council meeting for adoption.

    Make a Submission on the Draft Management Plans

    Following community engagement, Mitchell Shire Council has released Draft Management Plans for 5 environmental reserves.  We are now seeking your feedback on the draft reserve management plans.  

    The Reserves are:

    • Highcamp Flora Reserve, Highcamp
    • Catherine Court Reserve, Broadford
    • Fleming Drive Flora Reserve, Broadford
    • Whiteman’s Reserve, Broadford, and
    • Green’s Pinch and Hamilton Creek Reserves, Kilmore

    The best way to give us your feedback is by written submission. This feedback form has been provided to assist in preparing a written submission. 

    A number of questions are included to prompt your thoughts and opinions, but you are encouraged to comment on any aspect of the Draft Management Plan . 

    All submissions will be considered prior to finalising the Reserve Management Plans
