The curfew
We're proposing to introduce a cat curfew under the Domestic Animals Act 1994. To do this we need to create what is called an Order. The wording we are proposing for the Order is: If a cat is found at large outside the premises of the owner between sunset and sunrise, the owner is guilty of offence under Section 25 of the Domestic Animals Act.
6.   Do you support a cat curfew from sunset to sunrise?
7.   How likely would you be to comply with a nightly cat curfew?
Introducing the curfew
If Council agrees to introduce the Order, we'd be preparing some education in the lead up to the introduction. We are also proposing a three month amnesty once the curfew is introduced and a further three month education program after the amnesty ends.
