Landscape and Creek Restoration

The landscape of the reserve will be improved with the addition of shade trees and planting that build on the local native character of surrounding streets and parks.

Planting will be low maintenance, drought tolerant local indigenous and native species.

The natural Ecological Vegetation Class (EVC) of the area is Herb Rich Foothill Forest and trees and plants from this class are included in the plant palette.

The creek is a valuable natural asset within the reserve that will allow local residents
to connect with the water and associated flora and fauna.

Additional work (outside the Stage 1 project scope) is required to improve the flow of the creek and improve the creek ecology.

This work includes:
  • Ecological report
  • Detailed hydrology and flood mapping
  • Cultural Heritage Management Plan
  • Weed control, rubbish removal and revegetation plan

The Stage 1 works package will be implemented without compromising future works to the creek.

Consultation has concluded. For more information on this project please contact Council's recreation team on 5734 6200.
