Have your say on floodplain management
The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority's draft Regional Floodplain Management Strategy is now out for public comment.
The strategy covers seven municipalities including Mitchell. Community input from a series of public sessions held earlier this year has been incorporated in the draft strategy.
The draft strategy focuses on:
- building community resilience;
- helping people prepare for living on a floodplain; and
- protecting the environmental and cultural values of floodplains.
It includes a sub-plan for the Mitchell area.
Copies of the strategy, a summary of priority actions for each local government area and a feedback form are available on the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority website.
Consultation closes 5pm, Monday December 4 2017.
